PART 6: ACTS29 Scholars’ Day Out 2016 (Philippines)

Featuring the economic divide in India, Kaaka Muttai (The Crow’s Egg) is a Tamil movie about brothers Vignesh and Ramesh from a family in the slums.

The movie teaches the importance of independence and self-reliance, and more importantly, the value of friendship, having a buddy that stands by you.

Our scholars were assigned their buddies (their Kuyas and Ates) while watching Kaaka Muttai and with guidance from their Kuyas and Ates, they got to share their takeaway from the movie.

Our scholars noted that the brothers in the movie are very close, that they look after each other, and that towards the ending, they did what they could to comfort their Mom, especially knowing that their Dad is in prison.

Sir Jerome, mabuhay ka! What you shared about the movie and your personal experiences during our charity event was very inspiring to all of us, especially to our scholars.   Thank you very much po at hindi mo nakakalimutan ang ating mga scholars from Payatas and Erap City!
