CHARIS Humanitarian Forum & Fair (2013)

Caritas Humanitarian Aid & Relief, Singapore (CHARIS) held its second Humanitarian Forum & Fair on 22 June 2013 at the Singapore Polytechnic.  Themed Faith in Action, the event highlighted humanitarian aid and relief issues and various organisations involved in humanitarian aid got the chance to share their projects as well as their missions and their visions.

It was a great opportunity as well for those interested to volunteer (like Pres+Ivy) to support the programmes to help victims of natural disasters from immediate relief to long-term livelihood projects to help them get back on their feet and move forward. Pres+Ivy were very lucky to have gotten invited to attend this event – they only have this once every two years!  Truly a blessing!

The event included a plenary session where a panel of Catholic leaders helping the poor and those displaced by disasters shared their experiences of mission work.

They concluded the event with a multimedia concert, Dancing Rice, a collaborative effort of landmine victims from Battambang-Arrupe Tahen, Cambodia and young Singaporeans.
